Ghia Ransome of Ghinius on Choreographing the Conditions Where People and Businesses Thrive
Ghia Ransome has built a career at the intersection of creativity, people, and business, guided by a belief that exceptional experiences don’t happen by accident. They are intentionally designed, thoughtfully led, and supported by what happens behind the scenes.
As Founder & CEO of Ghinius, she brings an unconventional perspective to organizational leadership, blending the artistry of a creative director with the strategic discipline of an executive. Her work challenges businesses to look beyond individual departments and consider how leadership, culture, communication, and operations collectively shape the experiences of both employees and customers.
In this conversation, Ghia reflects on the experiences that shaped her leadership philosophy, the thinking behind her H.I.S. Framework, and her vision for the next chapter of Ghinius. At the heart of it all is a simple conviction: when people, purpose, and systems work in harmony, businesses are positioned to thrive.

Q: What inspired you to start Ghinius, and how did your years leading HR across large multi-site organizations shape the way you work with companies?
My career began on stage. For nearly two decades I was a choreographer and creative director, including work on Kirk Franklin's performances at the Grammy Awards and the Soul Train Music Awards and on his tours, along with sets for other recording artists, award shows, and television shows. From there, I moved into executive support, program management, operations, communications, organizational development, and HR leadership, and earned my master's in communication management (MCM) from USC along the way.
Every one of those roles showed me that great experiences are built behind the scenes. I spent ten years at a social services organization with 800+ employees across 25+ San Diego sites, growing from executive support into compliance and employee relations leadership. Later, I built and led the HR department for a statewide organization with 13+ California locations, where we grew the workforce from 83 to 140 while employee relations cases dropped 35%. Across nonprofits, senior care, and healthcare, I saw that what a customer, client, patient, participant or audience experiences starts with what the employee experiences.
What inspires me most is seeing what a company can do when Humanity, Infrastructure, and Stewardship (the three pillars of my H.I.S. Framework) move in harmony to create a thriving culture. I love it when high-quality work, team chemistry, and a strong aesthetic all align with a clear mission, vision, and values that leaders model every day. I founded Ghinius in 2023 as a fractional HR consultancy so I could choreograph the conditions where people and businesses thrive.
Q: What problem are you solving for the growing companies you support as a fractional HR partner?
I approach a company the way I'd approach a stage. Before anyone performs, the choreography, the cues, and the crew have to work as one. When companies call me, something in that production is off. Turnover is already taking a toll, the right talent is hard to find, staffing and compensation need a clear strategy, or compliance and policies are ready to catch up with growth.
I step in as their fractional HR director, an embedded part of the leadership team, and use the H.I.S. Framework to show leaders where to strengthen their people, their systems and communication, and their accountability. Then we build it together, until the team is seen, equipped, and ready to grow with the business.
Q: What's next for Ghinius?
Since 2023, every engagement has reached beyond HR into operations, communication, and the service people receive. So Ghinius is growing into an employee and customer experience (EX-CX) consultancy, with HR at its core. I'm developing The Masterpiece Lab, where founders bring their real challenges and we work through them together using the H.I.S. Framework. We go deep and build solutions in the room. I'm also keeping a small number of embedded partnerships for companies ready for full transformation.
