In this candid Q&A, Tatyana and Jenniffer share the personal experiences that sparked their business idea, from navigating the logistical nightmares of childcare and packed schedules to walking into fitness spaces that didn't feel welcoming. They reveal how removing traditional barriers—commuting across town, rigid scheduling, and intimidating studio environments—has helped women rediscover joy in movement and connection.
Discover how Well Reserved's carefully vetted instructors create inclusive, low-pressure experiences that prioritize emotional safety alongside physical well-being. From sound baths in cozy living rooms to strength training sessions on rooftops, learn how this innovative approach is turning wellness from a chore into a celebration of self-care.
The co-founders also open up about their biggest challenge: scaling their intimate, personal touch while maintaining the human connection that makes each session feel like "a best friend showing up with a yoga mat and good energy." Get inspired by their vision of wellness that meets women where they are—literally and emotionally—and transforms strangers into friends through the power of familiar, safe spaces.
Ready to experience wellness on your terms? This is the story of how two women are making that possible, one home session at a time.
1. You've created a model that eliminates many traditional barriers to wellness - from gym intimidation to scheduling conflicts. What inspired you both to reimagine how people access fitness and mindfulness services, and how do you see this 'wellness that comes to you' model addressing the specific challenges women face in prioritizing their health?
We started Well Reserved because we were tired of wellness feeling like another item on our to-do list—something that required commuting across town, squeezing into someone else's schedule, or walking into a space that didn’t feel like it was made for us. We knew there had to be a better way—one that actually met people where they are, literally and emotionally. As women, and as working moms and founders, we’ve experienced firsthand how hard it can be to prioritize ourselves. The logistics alone—childcare, packed calendars, mental load—can make carving out time for movement or mindfulness feel like a luxury instead of a necessity. That’s why we built a model that flips the script. With Well Reserved, wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all or locked behind studio walls—it comes to you, on your terms. By removing the friction—commute, scheduling hassles, and even the intimidation of walking into a traditional fitness space—we’re helping women (and their communities) access wellness in a way that’s joyful, flexible, and sustainable. Whether it’s a sound bath in your living room, strength training on your rooftop, or yoga with friends in your backyard, we want wellness to feel less like a chore and more like a celebration of self-care.
2. Well Reserved emphasizes creating community and connection through fitness, even in private settings. How do you train your instructors to foster that sense of belonging and camaraderie when they're entering someone's personal space? What have you learned about how women connect differently around wellness when they're in their own environment versus a traditional studio setting?
Our instructors are more than just experts in their modality—they’re warm, adaptable, and deeply attuned to the energy of the room. We look for people who lead with empathy, can read group dynamics, and prioritize emotional safety just as much as physical well-being. Whether they’re walking into a birthday celebration, a bachelorette weekend, or a quiet solo session, their role is to create a vibe that feels inclusive, low-pressure, and fun. What we’ve learned is that when women are in a space that’s familiar—whether it’s their home, a friend’s backyard, or a vacation rental—they let their guard down. There’s less comparison, less performance, and way more laughter. It becomes less about hitting a fitness goal and more about feeling good, being present, and connecting with the people around you. We’ve seen strangers become friends, group chats turn into group workouts, and wellness become something people look forward to instead of something they feel guilty about skipping. That shift is powerful—and it happens when the setting feels safe, personal, and real.
3. As female founders in the wellness industry, what's been your biggest challenge in building a business that's both deeply personalized and scalable? How do you maintain the quality and customized experience that sets Well Reserved apart while growing your team of instructors and expanding your reach?
One of our biggest challenges has been balancing intimacy with growth. From day one, we built Well Reserved to feel personal—like a best friend showing up with a yoga mat and good energy. As we scale, the question becomes: How do we keep that same feeling at the core of every session, even as we reach more people in more places? The key has been staying crystal clear on what makes us different: human connection. We don’t just match clients with instructors—we curate every experience with intention. That means vetting instructors not only for skill, but for warmth, adaptability, and the ability to show up with presence. We're not trying to be the biggest platform—we’re trying to be the best at creating moments that feel meaningful. We’re also looking to invest in systems behind the scenes that will allow us to scale without sacrificing the soul of what we do. From personalized onboarding to thoughtfully designed session types, we’re always asking: Does this feel like Well Reserved? Growth is exciting, but it only matters if the experience stays true to who we are—and that’s a standard we won’t compromise on.
