From Soul Whispers to Divine Union: A Conversation with Spiritual Guide Gwenda Smith

In a world that often pulls us away from our inner wisdom, spiritual guide and healer Gwenda Smith offers a profound pathway back to our authentic selves. Through her transformative G.W.E.N.D.A Method and the Spiritual School of W.E.S.H (Wisdom, Enlightenment & Self-Healing), Gwenda has dedicated her life to helping women and men connect with their divine essence and live in what she calls "Divine Union"—a harmonious alignment between heart, soul, and daily existence.
With years of experience walking between the physical and spiritual realms, Gwenda understands the deep yearning many feel for genuine spiritual connection and lasting transformation. Her approach goes beyond surface-level spiritual practices, offering instead a complete framework for awakening that transforms not just how we think about spirituality, but how we embody it in every moment of our lives.
In this illuminating conversation, Gwenda shares the inspiration behind her unique six-step spiritual awakening pathway, reveals practical techniques for building trust in our intuitive wisdom, and offers guidance for creating sacred sanctuary within our everyday lives. Whether you're just beginning your spiritual journey or seeking to deepen your existing practice, Gwenda's insights provide a roadmap for living with greater alignment, peace, and authentic power.

You've created The G.W.E.N.D.A Method - a 6-step spiritual awakening pathway for divine alignment. Can you share what inspired you to develop this specific framework, and how it helps women awaken, empower, and align with their highest self?
Absolutely, I’d be honoured to share. The G.W.E.N.D.A Method was born from my own lived experiences of walking between worlds—anchored in this physical realm while deeply attuned to the spiritual dimensions. Over the years, I have met so many women searching for answers outside themselves, trying many things to heal an illness or di-ease, piecing together bits of teachings that never quite took them to the depths of their truth.
What inspired me was actually a strategist who said he loved my name and that it suited my work perfectly, he asked if he could share what he meant. I loved what he presented to me, and I went deeper with it to create a soul-deep calling to offer a complete and embodied pathway—a map for spiritual awakening that didn’t just sound good on paper but activated real, lasting transformation. Each step in the G.W.E.N.D.A Method is intentionally designed to guide women and men through releasing old imprints, igniting their inner power, and aligning with their divine essence. Each step holds specific practices that open the heart and calm the mind so that the mind becomes the servant not the master.
How it helps women awaken, empower, and align with their highest self?
This method isn’t a surface-level feel-good fix—it’s a multidimensional framework that helps women remember who they are, to claim their energetic sovereignty, and walk as the embodiment of their highest self. It brings clarity, courage, and deep connection—so that they don’t just do the spiritual work, they live it.
It is living it that brings you to awakening, empowerment and being aligned. Reading books, attending seminars and taking courses is the beginning of the journey. In my experience it is only when the practices are embodied as a way of life that true awakening, alignment and empowerment happens.
Your work focuses heavily on "Divine Union" and living life aligned with heart and soul guidance. For women who struggle to trust their intuition or feel disconnected from their inner wisdom, what are some key practices from your School of W.E.S.H (Wisdom, Enlightenment & Self-Healing) that can help them connect?
Yes, I do focus heavily on being in Divine Union, because it is how you can live a life of harmony, calm, peace and richness. It is to live in alignment with your heart and soul. The ways of this world are focused on creating distraction from the true self, the inner wisdom and intuitive self, the guidance of the soul. We are taught from our early years to silence our inner voice or override the intuitive nudges in favour of logic, obligation, or fear. The feeling of not being connected and not trusting stem from our beliefs, perceptions and perspectives of self and the world around us. The practices and teachings I offer in the Spiritual School of W.E.S.H, and the G.W.E.N.D.A method brings you into alignment, to live in Divine Union with one's Divinity and the Almighty Divine; creator which it me is GOD. You may call it a different name.

W.E.S.H stands for Wisdom, Enlightenment, and Self-Healing—and it’s built around practical, sacred practices that help women and men align and awaken their intuitive connection and live from their soul’s guidance.
Our foundations in life are what give us solid, inner strength, and resilience. A foundation key practice from the Spiritual School of W.E.S.H is to learn the art of grounding and centering one's energy, to know the importance of this is vital to being in Divine union and to be able to hold one's energy throughout the day, no matter what comes your way. Another of my key foundational practices is to really know and live one's personal values and ethics, this is a game changer for everyone. And it is vital if you want to be in alignment to know and hear the guidance from your intuitive self. And a third practice is to learn to be with yourself in silence.
These are just 3 of the practices however the most powerful and important ones that bring you into being attuned to your intuition.
There is one aspect of this that encapsulates the ability to be attuned to your intuition and that is trust. Our trust in others can be broken very early in life but it is our trust in ourselves that is the greater hurdle for many people and one that is an anchor for being in Divine union.
To build trust with yourself I like the practice of choosing a personal value each day and applying it to everything you do in the day. At the end of the day journaling how you went, it can be an eye opener and very insightful for how you let yourself down, and to hold your word, these are the ways that we create a lack of trust towards ourselves and guess what it flows out to everything around us.
You describe your community as a "transformative sanctuary" where women can embrace their divine self. For busy women who can't physically join a spiritual community, how can they create their own sacred sanctuary and maintain practices for soul expansion and inner peace in their everyday lives?
This is a beautiful question, thank you. I do indeed describe The Spiritual School of W.E.S.H as a transformative sanctuary where women and men can embrace their Divine self and the reason I say that is because of the transformations I have seen with our members. Both W.E.S.H and the G.W.EN.D.A method are online which makes them available to those who can't be at a physical location. However there may be beautiful souls who are not able to access these things.
To walk through creating your own sacred sanctuary I would like to take you on a journey. To begin, I will write about the words we use either create freedom and flow or congested restriction, and one such word is busy. Busy is a way to pardon yourselfs from anything we do not see as a priority. Busy is a word that keeps us from being in Divine Union and creates restriction in all aspects of our lives. Can't is another of those words, as is don't. Did you know that the soul has no awareness of these words, but the mind certainly does and it works them in such a way that you become bound by them. The words we speak are powerful,a key aspect of aligning with your soul's guidance is to become aware of the words that you speak and the thoughts you hold onto. To create your own sacred sanctuary is not to go outside of yourself but to go inward. To cultivate a close relationship of heightened awareness of your physical body, and with your emotions, to know the feelings to be able to feel but not become them. It is through these insights that you develop the alignment with your soul which is in itself a beautiful sacred sanctuary and it awaits you to arrive. Soul expansion and deep inner peace, harmony is what you have when you meet your soul and open to its guidance, let it lead the way for you every day.Here are my favourite simple practices;
* Give yourself at least 10 minutes everyday to sit in silence.
* Walk in bushland or by the ocean or a river in silence. ( No headphones and no phone!)
* Do a body sweep, scan every morning
* Greet the day with vigour and joy
* Set your energy ground and centre
* Set your intention, what do you want to bring to all whom you meet in the day and what do you wish to receive.
* Ask your soul, and The Divine to guide you throughout the day for all that is of your highest good.
I like simple things, as does the soul.
