From 15 ER Visits to Burnout Coach: Tiara Johnson on Eliminating Overwhelm at the Root

Tiara Johnson knows burnout from the inside. As a single mother of five working in a demanding professional role, she found herself visiting the emergency room 15 times in a single year - not from illness, but from the compounding weight of stress and overwhelm. Instead of managing symptoms, she did what her background as an auditor trained her to do: she followed the problem back to its source.

That shift changed everything. The clarity she found on the other side became the foundation for Transform Your Journey Coaching, where she now helps ER clinicians do the same. Using her signature S.O.B. Model - Stress, Overwhelm, Burnout - Tiara works with clinicians and healthcare organizations to identify and eliminate the root causes of overwhelm, so they can protect their health, sustain their careers, and stay in the work they love.

In this interview, Tiara shares what drove her to build this practice, the gap she's filling in clinician support, and her plans to bring structured burnout prevention directly into hospitals.

What inspired you to start?

My inspiration came from being a single mother of five while working in a high-stress professional role. The weight of it all caught up with me in one year alone, I visited the ER 15 times, not because I lacked knowledge, but because I was drowning in stress and overwhelm. Drawing on my background as an auditor, I stopped trying to manage symptoms and started asking why nothing was working. I applied a root-cause framework to my own life, and everything changed. That transformation from burned out to clarity, career advancement, and entrepreneurship became the foundation of the work I do today.

What problem are you solving?

ER clinicians are operating in one of the most demanding environments in healthcare, yet the support they're offered rarely addresses what's actually driving their burnout. I help clinicians identify and eliminate the root cause of their overwhelm not just manage the symptoms so they can prevent burnout and stay in the career they love without sacrificing their health.

What's next for you?

I'm bringing my 12-Week Resilient Clinician Coaching Program directly into hospitals to serve ER clinicians at scale. Rather than waiting for clinicians to seek help on their own, I want to meet them where they are inside the very systems where burnout takes hold and give teams a structured, sustainable path forward.
