When Domino Hawk was diagnosed with endometriosis at 29, it changed how she looked at everything she put on and in her body, including the beauty products she'd used for years as a professional editorial makeup artist. Digging into the industry she thought she knew, she found a market where "natural" and "organic" often mean little more than clever marketing, with only a small fraction of products actually living up to the label.

So she started making her own skincare in her kitchen. What began as a personal experiment with oils, infusions, and botanicals grew into [Lucki Moo House](http://www.luckimoo.com/?ref=foundedbywomen.org), a 100% organic skincare brand built on a simple premise: transparency shouldn't be optional, and clean ingredients shouldn't mean sacrificing luxury.

We talked with Domino about the wake-up call that started it all, the lesson in patience that's shaped her approach to building slowly, and what's next for the brand, from a new deodorant launching next month to a full skincare line still in the works.

## Q: What inspired you to start Lucki Moo House?

When I was 29, I was diagnosed with endometriosis, which completely changed the way I viewed my body, my beauty routine, the feminine care products I used, and everything I brought into my environment. I began paying closer attention to ingredients and questioning products I had previously used without a second thought. As a former editorial make-up artist, I know the beauty industry inside and out. But this lifestyle change made me look at it through a different lens. I became increasingly frustrated by how often profit and consumption seemed to take priority over quality and transparency. With terms like natural, clean and organic used so freely in marketing, finding products that aligned with my values felt surprisingly difficult.

In my determination to find skincare I felt comfortable using, I started making my own in my kitchen, simply for myself—experimenting with infusions, oils, and naturally derived scents. I loved learning about different botanicals, oils, and butters, and discovering how much Mother Nature has to offer. Creating something beautiful didn’t always require spending more; sometimes, it simply required more time and patience. What began as something deeply personal gradually grew into a much bigger idea: *What if I could create the kind of skincare brand I had been searching for?*

As I dived deeper into the skincare market today the numbers were truly shocking. I discovered only 2-7% of skincare products being sold today are truly natural and that greenwashing and marketing is taking the forefront. A product according to FDA regulations can claim to be "natural" and "organic" even if it's 99% synthetic. This truly opened my eyes to the possibilities. There is a better way and we are doing it!

Lucki Moo was born. I wanted to create products that felt beautiful and elevated while remaining uncompromising about the ingredients. Natural skincare doesn’t have to feel like a sacrifice—it can be luxurious, effective, and something you look forward to using.Transparency is incredibly important to me. I want Lucki Moo House to be a place where people don’t have to second-guess what they’re buying. When they see our logo, I want them to feel confident in what they’re putting on their skin and know that every ingredient has been chosen with intention.

## Q: What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned building a 100% organic skincare brand?

The biggest lesson has been learning to take it one step at a time. Although the brand is new, I am no stranger to the apothecary world. My mother paved the way for me as a child, teaching me about essential oils, spiritual practices, and clean living. That foundation has stayed with me throughout this journey. Building a brand can become overwhelming very quickly. Especially since I hold myself to a high standard and want the best for my customers. There is always another idea, another product you want to create, or another milestone you feel you should already have reached. I’ve learned that growing slowly and intentionally can be one of your greatest strengths—perfecting one product at a time.

When you make a commitment not to cut corners, things sometimes take longer, and I’ve learned to be okay with that. I would much rather spend the extra time creating something beautiful and thoughtful that people will love and trust than rush something simply to get it to market. I’m learning to enjoy the process and remember that every thoughtful decision helps build the foundation of what I hope Lucki Moo House will become.

## Q: What’s next for Lucki Moo House?

We have many ideas in the pipeline. Our all-natural deodorant is launching next month, and we’re extremely excited about it!

I’m also looking forward to developing a full skincare line, including a signature cleanser, moisturizer, toner, and anti-aging serum—formulas I’ve been researching and experimenting with for years. Beyond that, I would love to create a fully organic makeup line that gives your skin a truly beautiful glow without compromising your health. Ultimately, I see our brand as a lifestyle centered on living more intentionally and being conscious of the products we choose for ourselves and our homes. Down the road, I would love to also expand into a 100% organic linen clothing line as well.

Finding products that align with your values can take a lot of time and research, and I want to make that process easier. My goal is for Lucki Moo to become a trusted destination where people know we’ve already put thought and care into every ingredient and material we use. No matter how much we grow, transparency will always be at the heart of what we do. I want our customers to know exactly what they’re bringing into their homes and putting on their bodies—and to feel really good about that choice.Thank you again for including me and Lucki Moo House. I’m so happy to be part of the community!
