Anic Grand is the co-founder of [House of Moments](https://houseofmoments.ch/?ref=foundedbywomen.org), a Swiss event and concierge agency based in Sion, in the canton of Valais. She started it together with her business partner Emma Duc, building on years of working side by side in the Swiss tourism and events industry. Anic leads strategy and marketing at the agency.

House of Moments designs corporate events, team outings and concierge services for travelers discovering Switzerland, drawing on a network of local providers, unique venues and experiences. Its starting point is a simple belief: in an increasingly digital world, real offline encounters build the trust that holds teams and client relationships together.

In this Q&A, Anic shares why she and Emma started House of Moments, what clients most often get wrong when planning a corporate event or a private celebration, what is next for the brand, and what she would tell women thinking about starting their own agency.

### Q: What made you start House of Moments, and why events and concierge services?

Honestly, Emma, my business partner, and I saw an opportunity and decided to act on it. Having worked together in the Swiss tourism and events industry, we had built a valuable network of local providers, unique places and experiences. With House of Moments, we want to open up access for companies, whether through incentives, team-building activities or larger corporate events.

In a world that's becoming increasingly digital, we believe that real, offline encounters are becoming more valuable than ever. Today, retaining employees and building lasting customer relationships are two major challenges for many companies. And while there are many ways to approach them, one thing is fundamental to both: trust.

Trust is built through shared experiences, meaningful conversations and the opportunity to get to know people beyond their professional roles. It's what turns colleagues into a team, employees into ambassadors and business contacts into lasting relationships.

With House of Moments, we create the occasions for these connections to happen. We help companies bring their people together, show appreciation for their employees and clients, and build relationships that go beyond everyday business interactions.

### Q: What do clients most often get wrong when they plan a corporate event or a private celebration?

Oh, there are a thousand possible answers to this one! Haha.

First, the investment and the final experience need to be aligned. You can absolutely create something meaningful without an extravagant budget, but if you want a well-executed, branded event that genuinely reflects your company, you need to be prepared to invest in it.

The second is the workload and responsibility that come with organising an event. Whether you're planning a private celebration or taking on the responsibility internally at your company, it's easy to underestimate the time, coordination and attention to detail involved, especially when you're already managing a full-time job.

This is where working with a specialist partner can make a real difference. Outsourcing event organisation isn't just about saving time. It's also about having someone who knows the industry, anticipates potential issues and understands the practical responsibilities involved, from supplier coordination to safety requirements and insurance considerations.

### Q: What's next for House of Moments?

What's next is about making House of Moments more visible and giving our brand a stronger voice. But it's also about building our personal brands alongside it.

Emma and I each bring our own expertise, experience and perspective to the table. House of Moments is the structure that brings everything together, but the people behind it are a big part of what makes it special.

We have a lot of knowledge and experience to share, and we're only just getting started.

### Q: What would you tell a woman thinking about starting her own agency?

I think it's important to find a peer, ideally someone who understands your industry and the challenges you're facing. That might be a business partner, as it is for me, or a mentor you can turn to when things get difficult. Having someone who understands what you're going through can make a real difference.

But I also think entrepreneurship is incredibly empowering. To have a voice, you first have to find it. When you build something of your own, you learn to articulate what you believe in, communicate the value of what you do, navigate conversations with all kinds of people and understand what matters to them. You learn to negotiate, to listen, to stand your ground and to adapt.

And those aren't just business skills. They're skills for life.

You'll fill your buckets with relationships, connections, experiences, challenges and lessons you wouldn't necessarily have gained otherwise.
